Sunday Evening
Over the weekend mom and I went out to the beautiful Howey cemetery and took some pictures. The oak tree’s, palms, and statues make it a beautiful place. Here are some of the photo’s I took that evening.

A Martha Stewart Easter
You know me, I love crafts! Martha Stewart has so many idea's on her website for Easter, I wanted to share two of my favorites. I'm attempting both of these crafts this weekend. I will post pictures of my final product.*************************************************************

Set inside a rustic boat-shaped birch basket, this cheerful yellow hilltop vista is a breath of fresh air. You can practically hear the chicks peeping and feel the warm sunshine on your face. We contoured the moss and the soil below it (both are inside a plastic liner) to effect a more realistic look, and we planted the daffodils ('Small Talk' and 'Tete-a-Tete') individually, rather than in clumps, to make the flowers appear as if they are growing naturally.
TipsVarying the posture of the chicks' legs will give them slightly different personalities. Planting the bulbs individually rather than in clumps will give them the appearance that they are growing naturally.
Making Chicks

1. You will need a 1 1/8-inch pom-pom maker from a crafts store and yellow yarn (this is a thin mohair, but we used various thicknesses for different piles). Wrap yarn around two of the kit's plastic pieces placed back to back, until the middle is filled with yarn. Repeat with the other two plastic pieces. Hook the two sides into each other to make a yarn 'wreath.' Cut around sides of the wreath. Use yellow twine to tie yarn in the middle. Remove plastic pieces to reveal pom-pom. Trim again to make pom-pom round. To make a smaller pom-pom for the head, use less yarn or trim down a large pom-pom. Sew pom-poms through centers with yellow thread to connect the head to the body.

2.Trim the nap from orange pipe cleaners to create legs. Cut two 2 1/2-inch pieces, and bend them in the middle for 'knees.' Notch at the bottom, as shown. Bend a 3/4-inch piece into a V, dab white glue on outside corner, and cinch inside notch to create feet. Put a dab of glue on the top of the legs, and push into pom-pom so that chick will be able to stand; adjust position of legs, and allow glue to dry with chick standing up. Cut two small triangles of felt for the beak, and adhere with dabs of glue. Thread a needle with black embroidery thread, and tie a knot at the end. Insert needle where eye would be, and push through head, leaving knot flush with pom-pom surface; knot and trim other end for second eye.
Planting a Basket

1. Place a plastic liner inside a basket and fill it with soil so it is mounded in spots, like a hilly field.
2. Turn daffodils out of their plastic pots, and plant in soil; for a more natural look, carefully tease apart daffodils before planting.
3. Place cushion moss on top. Plant additional daffodils between the moss seams and into the soil to fill in bare spots.4. Place pom-pom chicks on top. Set the basket in a sunny location, and water frequently so it will last for several weeks.

In Germany and Austria, it's customary to celebrate Easter by hanging hollow eggs from the branches of trees. This year, bring the tradition indoors by creating a unique display for your blown and decorated eggs.
Fill an ice bucket with floral foam, then insert grass and pussy willow branches. Or place pebbles and water into a vase, and make an arrangement using any type of fresh-cut branches, such as flowering quince, magnolia, forsythia or cherry blossom.

To thread and hang the eggs, center a slipknot on a length of ribbon, and thread the ribbon ends through a large-eyed needle (or fashion a needle by folding a 12-inch length of 27-gauge wire in half; use the loop end to thread ribbon). Gently pass the needle through the holes at each end of the egg, and pull ribbon through. Before inserting the needle, decide which end of the egg will be the bottom; the hole from which the ribbon ends protrude will be the top of your egg. Double-knot the ribbon above and below the egg, then tie the loose ends to a branch with a bow.

A GOOD FISHING YEAR TO COME!
Fishing season is around the corner! It’s my favorite part of the summer. Last year was exciting, we caught tons of fish and I went on my first all GIRL tournament and we won First place Wahoo. The boy tournaments didn’t go over so well, but this year I have a feeling their due for a big one! Here are some pictures of last years fishing season, oh the good times. I’m hoping to post a picture with my 1000 pound Marlin this year! Please stick this on all of your vision boards for me; I will BUY you a drink!

BUSY WEEKEND

I had a busy weekend! I’m so drained I haven’t even been able to think about bloging. Friday I shaved Velvet and Bear. I had to completely shave Bear from head to toe due to his skin problem we found…he look’s like a completely different dog and I have changed his name to DINGO. He feels so much better and I know the hair will grow back. Until then everyone in the house will call him the Australian or “The Oversized Chihuahua”. Poor little thing :(
That night we had company over and grilled out, Joe made his BBQ chicken on the grill and I must say it was the best he has made! I helped by making corn on the cob and mash potatoes, one of my favorite combinations. Nothing like grilling out on a nice day enjoying conversations and chilled wine. I love entertaining! I think it’s bringing out the best dishes, using wine charms that I never use, and having the house sparkling clean, I love it! I need to start up a dinner club soon!

(Picture of one of my wine charms...I chose the airplane)The next morning Mom, Memaw, and I headed to Winter Garden Villages, they have everything from World Market, to HomeGoods. We found this little boutique called Polka dots, where Memaw got me a new bead for my Pandora bracelet, it’s a good luck horseshoe. It’s much cuter in person. (PANDORA TIP: This bead is a Brighton bead, not a Pandora, there half the price and the same quality.)

After our shopping excursion Joe, Mom, and I headed to the lake for a quick fishing trip. Little did we know mom would drive the trailer off the side of the ramp, I was the only one in the boat and sure enough with my luck the boat popped out and started drifting, LUCKLY there was an old piece of boat dock and I grabbed onto it. Now that I look back it couldn’t have been that bad. Worse case scenario someone would have to pick me up in another boat, but at the time I wasn’t thinking…I just knew I would drift away and never be seen again…(Yes, I know it was a little lake and that wouldn’t happen, but it was scary at that minute). To make this long story short we ended up finding 5 men to help lift the trailer out of the hole, there are good people in the world today!
Sunday was full of outdoor chores; I won’t even get into the details. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.
P.S. Mom, Joe, & Memaw found a house! THE CLOSING DATE IS APRIL 28! Thank you god for finding my family such a great home! FREEDOM is in the future!

Lemons and Oranges
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I have been a busy bee. I wanted to share with you my new wreath I made. I found these orange and lemon slices at Home Goods for 3.99 and stuck them in the green wreath I had from Christmas...I took the red berries off and replaced them with the citrus...cheap and now it feels like spring in my household :)

Christmas in March
Brandi and I didn’t get to celebrate Christmas like last year so we celebrated a couple of weeks ago. She gets the most thoughtful gifts and I wanted to share them with you. I will start off with my favorite, this bird! The bird can be used as a push pin or a tape measure. I have never seen anything like it; you just push his belly and the tail tape measure fly’s back into his stomach! Isn’t he cute?

Thank you Brandi! :)

Fire Balls & Clovers
First I want to start off and say HAPPY ST.PATRICKS DAY! I have my green on today, thank goodness for this necklace Mom found years back! I totally forgot about it until I was searching for green this morning. All of us are headed out tonight for corn beef, kraut, and green beer! Hope everyone enjoys their St. Patricks Day!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This past Sunday we went to the Atlantic Coast to watch the space shuttle launch, we made a day out of it. Were lucky enough to have our boat docked in Merritt Island, which borders Kennedy Space Center. We can see NASA from the water. We went fishing before the launch and I caught one puffer fish, and a saltwater catfish…Mom was the winner bringing in the most fish! Joe and Jim caught 1 sea trout a piece, not enough for a fish fry.
The launch went off at 7:42, I must say this was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. You could hear the shuttle break the sound barrier, it sounded like fireworks multiplied by 10, and we saw the fuel tanks drop. They looked like fireballs falling from the sky. After the shuttle had made it through the atmosphere the cloud streaks turned the colors of the rainbow. It made us all feel proud to be Americans; it’s something you must see before you die. It was AMAZING!
I took these pictures from the boat, enjoy! Only if you could have seen it in person, the pictures don’t do it justice.
