Day 2

We started off the day right by having brunch at Mesa Grill. I had ANCHO CRUSTED SEA SCALLOPS, with Crawfish-Green Onion Sauce. I was so glad I chose this dish because it was pure luxury to my mouth. The scallops were dusted with ancho pepper which means Poblano pepper in Spanish; it gave off a mild peppery flavor. The scallops were cooked perfectly, seared with a rare center. They were sweet and tender and melted in my mouth. The crawfish-green onion sauce was the icing on the cake, they had mixed crawfish meat in with the sauce, so every nibble had a crawfish tail on top. I must say it was great and different and if I’m ever at Mesa again I will be sure to order the same thing. Before we left Lesli asked if we could have a tour of Bobby Flay’s kitchen and boy did they give us a tour, we went back and saw each preparing station and even got to go upstairs to the rotisseries, it was the perfect ending to our meal! (Thank you Lesli)

After our nice meal we walked back to the Wynn, which took a little longer than we expected. We enjoyed sight seeing and were happy we got in a little exercise. The minute we made it back we threw on our bathing suits (my favorite thing to do) and headed down to the pool.

That night we ate at Wazuzu, a beautiful Pan-Asian restaurant in the Wynn. (I fell in love with the dragon chandelier the minute we walked in!
We had sushi for an appetizer and I chose Thai Spicy Basil Stir-fry Shrimp with Thai sweet basil, onions, bell peppers, and white pepper for my main dish. I must say the sushi was magnificent. The salmon that was placed on top was the best cut of meat you could have filleted off of a salmon, the texture was like butter. It was amazing! My shrimp was heavenly, I love spicy sweet dishes and they had cooked the shrimp to perfection. Oh do I wish I could eat that every night!
After our nice dinner we headed to the show, La Reve, which means “The Dream” in French: A small collection of imperfect dreams.” The artful, acrobatic show by Franco Dragone, Cirque du Soleil’s former creative director, plays out in a pool of water instead of a stage. We had wonderful seats, 2 rows up from the water. I could see every performers face and I must say this show I’m sure blew Thunder Down Under away! After the show the 3 of us danced and pounced all the way back to our room as if we were the Le Reve performers, the show was magnificent. That night we took it easy and enjoyed a quick cocktail at the Palazzo. Day 3 coming soon!
