Fire Balls & Clovers

First I want to start off and say HAPPY ST.PATRICKS DAY! I have my green on today, thank goodness for this necklace Mom found years back! I totally forgot about it until I was searching for green this morning. All of us are headed out tonight for corn beef, kraut, and green beer! Hope everyone enjoys their St. Patricks Day!

This past Sunday we went to the Atlantic Coast to watch the space shuttle launch, we made a day out of it. Were lucky enough to have our boat docked in Merritt Island, which borders Kennedy Space Center. We can see NASA from the water. We went fishing before the launch and I caught one puffer fish, and a saltwater catfish…Mom was the winner bringing in the most fish! Joe and Jim caught 1 sea trout a piece, not enough for a fish fry.

The launch went off at 7:42, I must say this was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. You could hear the shuttle break the sound barrier, it sounded like fireworks multiplied by 10, and we saw the fuel tanks drop. They looked like fireballs falling from the sky. After the shuttle had made it through the atmosphere the cloud streaks turned the colors of the rainbow. It made us all feel proud to be Americans; it’s something you must see before you die. It was AMAZING!

Caladesi Island State Park

************Last night my grand ma received a call from the doctor, last weeks blood work came back and they need to see her this morning as soon as possible.  I will go with her and the beach will come later today or next week.  Please pray for her, thank you.**************

I'm here today! I took off of work since it will be slow in the office, and what better place to spend your day off. This is my first time at Caladesi Island, I will let you know how it goes. It's only 1.5 hours away! Hope my cell works since I will be forwarding the office phones!

About the Island

One of the few completely natural islands along Florida´s Gulf Coast, Caladesi´s white sand shores have been rated as the nation´s #1 best beach. Beach lovers can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and beach combing. Saltwater anglers can fish from their boats or throw a line out into the surf. Nature enthusiasts watch wildlife while hiking the three mile nature trail through the island´s interior or paddling a three mile kayak trail through the mangroves and bay.

The Sumtner County Farmers Market

We enjoyed ourselves today at the farmers market.  I swear it has to be one of the biggest markets in the world.  It would literally take you all day to browse every booth.  We were there for about 1 hour and went through only 4 isles.  The town it's held in is adorable.  They have home style restaurants that stretch opposite side of the market, The Speckled Butter Bean and The Hay Seed to name a few.  I found a bucket of Garlic for $1 and that made my day.  I also got some fresh cucumbers, some large red onions, petite asparagus spears, and a puff pastry...mmmmm

Jim got 2 old fishing rods, some razors (in the box), 1 cherry tomato plant and 1 hot pepper plant.  Can't wait to make some fresh salsa!
