The Dress I Got on Fried Green Bean Night

This is the dress I got last weekend. I promised pictures. This is what I will be wearing on Jaclyn's rehearsal dinner. I'm so happy that the loose fit is so in style. I dread the day when tight dresses make a come back.

Violet Hill

I'm a HUGE fan of Coldplay and their brand new single came out today, you can download it for FREE for 7 days at www.coldplay.com.  I can't wait for the full album!

I swear the dog ate it

So, I was babysitting Jim’s dad’s dog this past weekend and he did something that made me so furious I could have turned him loose and never bothered with him again…I know that sounds mean but chewing on my nice purse that was a present from my husband, that’s something you don’t mess with. I was watching T.V., probably food network or some dirty reality show, “For example the Bachelor last night, Can you believe that girl slipped into some naughty black nighty.” and I noticed that Bo (the huge white lab the size of a monster) was missing. No joke, the dog reminds me of that movie the Sandlot with the huge enormous dog at the end. I yelled for him but he didn’t come. I finally had a commercial break and I got up and walked in to the dining room and there lay on the floor my nice purse, my wallet that was opened with my cards spread out, and every other single piece of shi** that I keep in my purse…I was upset but very lucky that nothing was ruined. The only thing that was missing was my I.D, which is important to have since I was going out the next night with my good friend Lori.

Jump to the next night.

Lori and I were at Brio, and I was ordering a glass of wine and the waiter asks, “Can I see your ID?” I looked at Lori and rolled my eyes since we had just got through chatting about my I.D. being eaten by the monster dog. I said, sir a dog ate my I.D. and the only thing I have is a receipt on my new I.D. that I had ordered, which was a piece of paper with no pictures. The guy said, “I’m not buying that” and started laughing at me. Which it is funny, what dog eats an I.D.? There plastic, I can understand a dog chewing on leather but attacking my I.D., the dog had to know what he was doing. To make the long story short, I had my old Passport with my old last name and I told him I know this looks weird but really, I am 25 and I know that this Passport has my old last name but just please serve me a glass of wine. He took a look at the old passport and gave in. I sure enjoyed my wine after that long ordeal. I just thought I would share this story, I thought It was funny but sometimes I think things are funny and others do not.

Photography

This is a picture of a pot my mom mosaiced for me. She used my grand mothers jewelry with the stones. Part of my wedding present was 4 mosaiced pieces all with old jewelry. Its a great idea, I have them displayed in my china cabinet and every time I walk by it reminds me of my family, since each piece was special. Thanks mammy :)

Meet the Fur Terds

Bear
I have had Bear ever since I was 16 and lived in Oklahoma.  I rescued his mother from the side of the road, she was malnourished and starved.  I brought her
home and my mom thorugh a fit, little did we know the dog I h
ad just rescued would be having Bear and his brother in 2 weeks.  She gave birth under our farm house and it took 5 weeks to get th
em out.  There were 2 Bear, and Zeke.  My mom wouldnt let me keep everyone, since we already had 3 dogs and 4 cats so it took me a couple of months to find everyone good homes...I couldnt have done it without my  Aunt Sharon and my mom.  I kept Bear since he was the sweet, shy and quiet one.  We connected and he became my baby son.  No joke, he really thinks he's a human.  Which he does behave better than anyone I know.
When I made the big move to Florida 3 1/2 years ago, I wouldnt have been able to make it
without him.  He kept me company when I was down, and has been the best pet I have ever had.  I love him very much!

Velvet
Velvet was Jim's when I entered the relationship.  She was a sad dog that would do anything for attention, even negative attention.  She would chew my shoes, pee and poop in the house just to see our reactions and would do anything to piss you off.  I will never forget when we came home from work and she had chewed Jim's oriental rug he had g
ot at an auction..Im not sure why she chose the most expensive thing in his house, but she did.  We have noticed the older she gets the better she becomes, she still does things that I shake my head at but she has become a better dog.  She is loyal and wants to be wherever we are.  She cant stand to be alone, I love her and am sure will love her more and more every year.

Harley
Jim and I rescued Harley from the neighbor hood he used to live in.  It took us 2 months and a lot of bacon to get him inside.  He survived on his own for a long time, we would only see him at night and I started feeding him.  He was starved and in bad shape.  Harley is very sweet and bashful, when I tickle him and he will give me a shy school boy face.  He is the smartest dog of our 3.  He can open any door and escape any yard.  He has locked me out of the house, opens the door when Im not looking and if I want to take a nap I have to lock our bedroom door or he will get in to snuggle.  He is a great dog.

Before bed with my Blue Seven

Blueberry Vodka and a Bubble Bath

Yes, I just got done taking a bubble bath and drinking a Blueberry Martini.  I say martini to give it a classier name, but really its blueberry vodka and diet seven up.  Its yummy and not quite a martini but anything now days in a martini glass is a martini.  The only true martini is pure alcohol and a splash of olive juice..but those are not my cup of tea.  It's nice to reward myself with a nice relaxing bath and a night cap after a hard day at work.  I have planted trees, flowers, an herb box, and mowed part of our 5 acre lawn.  Only 2 more acres to go which I will tackle in the  morning.  Its nice relaxing alone but I do miss my Jim...he will be home tomorrow night or Monday morning.

Also, the fried green beans were fabulous last night!  After the green beans we headed to Macy's and I found a dress to wear to Jaclyn's rehearsal.  I will post the picture of the dress tomorrow when I'm not tired.  I LOVE IT, and I'm so happy that baby doll dresses are in style and I will wear them as long as I can.  I dread the day that tight clothing makes a come back.  After our Macy's adventure that lasted 2 hours we headed to Brio which is an Italian restaurant that serves wonderful food.  I had a balsamic salad with shrimp scampi and a glass of pino, it was wonderful and I ate way to much.  Well, I will finish off my blue seven and head to bed.  I have some more lawn mowing to look forward to.  Someone has to do it.

My Husband Leaves. Yes, to More Fishing

My husband leaves me again tomorrow for a fishing tournament, this is the third one this month and the last one until May.  I enjoy going but this time I need to stay home with my fur terds (dogs).  I do enjoy having the house to myself, but when night hits I wish he were here.  We have 3 dogs and I shouldn't worry but every little sound I think its a burglar.  I hate sleeping with the TV on high volume but if it weren't for the TV I wouldn't sleep.

I feel my summers are eaten up by the tournaments.  They are fun when I do get to go but I wish we were closer, we have to drive at least 5-6 hours one way to get to them.  In June we enter our first ALL GIRLS TOURNAMENT, it should be a blast.
Tomorrow I have plans to go out to dinner with my good friend Lori, we are celebrating my birthday so I will eat whatever I want, sorry weight watchers :) I'm craving fried green beans so we will make an appetizer stop at TGI Friday's, if you are thinking to yourself, "what the hell is a fried green bean?", its the most delicious thing to eat, other than my favorites, raw oysters, king crab legs, and Taco Beuno (of which I dont have here in Florida) When I go back home to Oklahoma that's the first thing I eat when the plane touches down, Taco Bueno...mmm I would die to have a bean burrito and a mexi dip and chips.  TGI Friday's by far has the best fried green beans other than the Don CeSar, which is a famous hotel in St. Pete Beach, FL.  That's where Lori introduced me to my first fried green bean.  I will post soon on my exciting night.

Why do I love Big Brother 9?

Ok, I’m going to admit it, I love Big Brother this season, I’m not sure why it’s so great to watch, you got people sweating in plastic boxes, people hanging on disco balls, and everyone stabbing each others back. I can’t understand why I like it so much. It’s sad that’s what I like to watch but I try to balance it out by reading CNN News daily.
Who do you want to win? Sheila, Adam, or Ryan? I think Sheila is my pick. She has been the most honest but yet she is hard to read. Does anyone else think that Adam and Sheila might know each other from the past? I don’t know why I get that feeling but I do…we will see! It’s sad the people that are the least genuine are usually the ones that win. I look forward to the end this week...should be pretty interesting. Afterwards I will be free of this junk and can move on too bigger and better things on TV like the Hills, Paranormal State, and the Bachelor…how horrible. I know. Just remember, I do watch the news and care about what’s going on in today’s economy. I will post my political views and what I think about global warming someday. I hope everyone had a wonderful Earth Day yesterday! In honor of Earth Day I will plant a tree this weekend, I will post pictures in the following days.

I have a love for photography and will post my favorite pictures I have taken for the week. I would love to have comments. Here is the first one for this week. Thanks. :)

I Promised Pictures of Dallas

Here is the pictures of us with our bachelorette shirts on the night we went out for Jaclyn's party. We leave to her wedding in 3 weeks, should be a great time!

Its nice to be home from our long weekend. The lawn has grown so high its time to mow again. Im guessing that will be my fun for tonight. Jim's father is going out of town on business this week so we get to baby sit his white lab, Bo...Our dogs will be happy there is a new friend to play with. I hate baby sitting, if its for a child. Hopefully one day I will change, I guess if it were my own kid I would love it but until then, I dont want to baby sit. Im not trying to be a crab, its just how I feel.

I caught my first COBIA

The weekend trip was fun, I finally caught my first Cobia. The first pic is of me realing in the fish, 2nd is of the fish.

I only got to fish 1 day, since it was a tournment. The boys fished for 3 days, they caught a total of 5 fish, but none were winners. I was with kids most of the days and it was nice to be home and in my own bed. I did learn a lesson on this trip, don't ask what anyone thinks because they might tell you somthing you dont want to know..instead, enjoy the boat and everyones company and go with the flow. I really enjoy the boat life and I really do love everyone and enjoy everyones company..I look forward to a winning year and for some good times!

Outcast Cobia Tournment

We leave for Pensacola, FL tomorrow for the Outcast Cobia Tournament. If you’re not familiar with Cobia, it’s a rapid growing pelagic fish which can be found in the tropical and subtropical waters, Cobia is also known as black kingfish, black salmon, ling and, lemonfish. They are wonderful to eat and if we catch one I will post pictures and share a great recipe that I have. We live about 6 hours south of Pensacola so I get to enjoy a long car ride with my husband, I’m not sure if anyone else feels this way but car rides are very stressful. I will try to post and update you on our trip. Hopefully it will be full of fun and sun. (Picture below is of a cobia caught off of Orange Beach, FL(FL Sportsman))

Viva La Dallas

The trip to Dallas was fabulous, there were 8 of us girls and amazingly we all were on the same page…usually when you get a lot of women together you have personalities clashing, we got lucky. It was Jaclyn’s bachelorette weekend so to set the mood we ate at Dicks Last Resort, pictured below.

A restaurant with smart ass staff, a menu posted on the ceiling and a rude hostess…It was hard for me to tip our waitress after she had thrown down our silverware and meal, but I was told you go for the experience. It wasn’t my cup of tea but at least they made Jaclyn a paper hat that had some comment about getting married on it. We all were wearing pink shirts that read, “Bachelorette Party” Jaclyn had a checklist shirt that had tasks for her to complete before we went home. She did a good job, we were home and in bed by 1:30.

On Saturday we lounged by the pool before dinner, we chose to eat at Sambuca which was a step up from Dicks Last Resort. (picture on the left) I had pepper crusted scallops with asparagus ends that laid upon a risotto patty. It was delicous. After dinner we went to Ghost Bar which is on the top floor of the W Hotel. It was an amazing view and we enjoyed our time there. We finished up with a night cap at Clear, a bar that was decorated in nothing but whites, amost like ice, it was a dance club and after being there for an hour I realized how happy I am being married.

It was an amazing time and I look forward to Jaclyn's wedding in May. It's alway nice having girl time, but I was excited to be back with my husband.

P.S. I will post pictures when I get them loaded.
